I can’t say enough about how amazing blowouts are and how one can make your hair look like it never has before. One question you need to ask yourself before you start your blowout is “What’s the best product to blowout my hair with?” Everyone’s hair texture is different, so what works great on your friend may not do the job for your hair. Hair is not to be treated equal, it’s to be treated for its texture.
Below you will learn about different blow drying products for all hair textures so you can find a product you can’t live without.
With fine, thin hair you want to make sure you are using hair styling products that won’t weigh down your hair. Use a hair mousse, volumizing spray or heat protection spray to protect your hair and give it volume.
This is one of my favorite hair product cocktails for fine hair. The best way to apply this root boost and mousse is to dry your hair about 10% , then spray the root boost just on your roots and massage it into your scalp. With the mousse fill the palm of your hand, take a wide tooth comb and dip it into the mousse and comb through till you have disrupted it all over your hair. Then blow dry.
Oribe Volumista Spray
I’m sure by now you have tried a lot of volumizing sprays if you have fine, limp hair. A common problem I have come across with volumizing sprays is that they are sticky. Not Oribe Volumista. It’s so light you can’t even tell you have product in your hair. Plus the smell is amazing. If you’re not a hair mousse kind of girl, and would prefer a spray, this is a must try!
It’s A 10 Miracle Blow Dry Volumizer
I first discovered “It’s A 10” leave-in conditioner over 6 years ago a fell in love. I still use it almost everyday. Now they have this amazing volumizing blow dry spray. Not only does this spray give your hair touchable volume, but its adds a beautiful shine, all while conditioning. And it won’t weigh your hair down, It’s a miracle! Plus you can use as a light hold volumizing hair spray .
Kerastase Resistance Volumifique Spray
Kerastase is definitely one of my top favorite professional haircare lines. They make beautiful shampoos and conditioners and some of the best hair styling products. While most sprays just coat your hair and weight it down, this volumizing spray works from the inside out to make your hair full of body, volume and texture. You will not be disappointed with this volumizing spray.
If you hair is anything like mine, medium thickness, that’s wavy/curly, using the right styling product will help you when it’s blowout time. Using a blowout spray speeds up the drying time, reduces frizz, and adds volume. With this hair texture and density you are open to using many different kinds of product to create a smooth, voluminous blowout. There are blow dry sprays that are a heat protectant, silkening hair mousse, and amazing styling creams that work great on medium hair texture.
Redken Pillow Proof
I just tried this Redken Pillow Proof for the first time about 2 months ago and am very happy with it. It’s great for both straight and wavy hair textures. It adds the perfect amount of volume, speeds up drying time and even protects your hair against the heat of the hair dryer.
Aquage Silkening Oil Foam Mousse
This oil-infused hair mousse is amazing for blowing out curly hair straight. It smooths hair, while infusing it with nutrient-rich sea extend complex and adding weightless conditioning. This hair mousse seals down the cuticle to eliminate frizz, and adds shine.
Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray
Amika bombshell blowout spray is great for all hair textures. This weightless spray gives you beautiful volume with awesome texture and the right amount of hold. Amika uses rice in the formula which helps give that weightless, touchable hold.
Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream
Everyone knows and loves Moroccanoil products. The hydrating styling cream is moisturizing, leaving the hair soft and manageable. Use about a nickle-sized amount, work it in your hand before applying to your hair. Apply from midshaft to ends, comb through and blow dry. Plus days you don’t have time to blow dry you can use this product to air dry frizz free curls. Double duty products are the best.
Thick, coarse hair is hard to get under control. But it can be done with the right product. Almost anything goes when you have a hair texture that soaks up any product like a sponge. One thing to remember is coarse hair is very fragile whether it is thick or thin. So even if you have a ton of hair, you always want to protect it; coarse or not.
Oribe Royal Blowout Spray
This is perfect if you want to use a styling spray that is a heat protectant, but will also smooth the heck out of your hair and nourish it at the same time. This blow dry spray is no joke. It’s my go to blow dry spray for coarse, curly, rebellious hair when I want to achieve a smooth, frizz free blowout. It’s one of the best. Hairs down.
Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion
You probably notice I talk about Moroccanoil products all the time. It’s because they’re fantastic. The smoothing lotion conditions dry, coarse hair and gives up to 72 hours of a humidity free shield. It’s also is a great detangler. Just apply from your midshaft to ends, and blow dry.
Moroccanoil Styling Gel
Using a blowout gel is a great alternative to a lotion or a spray if you hair just doesn’t want to lay flat. A blow dry gel fights frizz and has a light hold to help from hair bounce up and being fluffy when you blow dry. Again Moroccanoil gets an A+ in my styling book for some of the best products for hair and blowouts.
Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax Serum
If you like to style your hair with a smoothing oil you need this one! This hair serum is perfect for coarse, dry hair that needs to be put in it’s place. It reduces volume and tames frizzy, rebellious hair. Oleo-Relax leaves your hair smooth, shiny and tangle free. It’s also great to apply a small amount after to tame flyaways and a just that extra touch of sleekness.
